On April 28, Marriage Equliaty New York (http://www.meny.us/) held their 12th Annual gala at Slate Restaurant in New York City.
The MENY Gala recognized and honored: Queer Rising, NYS Senator Peralta, Shannon Minter, and B.D. Wong for their work in moving marriage equality forward in New York State and, in some cases, on the national front. This recognition comes from the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and it represents how important this issue is in our everyday lives.
In addition to the honorees, many notables came out to support the event including Marti Gould Cummings, Yetta Kurland, Lea DeLaria, Randy Jones, Marty Thomas, NY2 news anchor Margo Rose Ferderer, NYC Comptroller John Liu, Jesse Archer, former Detroit Tiger pitcher Matt Pender, Tina McKissick, Dan Gershaw, Reichen Lehmkuhl and more.
